Hi everyone,

A client of mine is seeing a strange rendering issue in Outlook.com webmail when viewed on IE11 on a Windows 10 computer. With the code below, they should see a normal jpeg image of a line but instead, they are seeing a green box where the image should be. What’s odd is that no other images in my email is having this issue. I can’t share all of the code or imagery but the below is what we’re using:

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="border-collapse:collapse;mso-table-lspace:0pt;mso-table-rspace:0pt;background-color:#f0f0f0;" width="100%"><tr>
<
td align="left" bgcolor="#f0f0f0" style="width:3.125%;font-size:0px;line-height:0px;" valign="bottom">&#160;</td>
<td align="center" bgcolor="#f0f0f0" style="width:93.75%;font-size:0px;line-height:0px;" valign="bottom">
<
table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="border-collapse:collapse;mso-table-lspace:0pt;mso-table-rspace:0pt;background-color:#f0f0f0;" width="100%">
<
tr>
<
td align="center" class="fullwidth" style="width:100%;" valign="bottom"><img src="images/line.jpg" border="0" title="" style="display:block;width:100%;height:auto;max-width:600px;max-height:288px;"></td>
</
tr>
</
table>
</
td>
<
td align="left" bgcolor="#f0f0f0" style="width:3.125%;font-size:0px;line-height:0px;" valign="bottom">&#160;</td>
</tr>
</
table

Any ideas on the cause or a solution?

Thanks!

Could you send the original line.jpg so I could test with it?

Hey!

I send a test to my own hotmail.com address and viewed it in IE11 on a Windows 10 pc, and I’m not seeing any problems. The image loads correctly and everything looks fine. (also tested it in Edge, Chrome and Firefox - all looks fine)

So I guess it’s some setting on your client’s pc that’s causing the problem… Maybe try and save the image again under a different name just in case. Sometimes silly things like that fix problems without making any sense.

Sorry I couldn’t be more help!

Attached a screenshot of my inbox.

Cheers,
Lein

Thank you for all of your hard work! We weren’t able to replicate it either.

We’ll go back to them and see what we can do from there.

Thanks!
