Hi all, running into an issue that is driving me batty. In my Outlook 2013 and 2016 screenshots on EoA, background images will not display.

I have copy & pasted the html from backgrounds.cm directly without updating it and it still isn’t working. Occasionally, however, when I run the test it WILL randomly work, so I am trying to see if this is an EoA issue or something on my end.

Here is my test: https://www.emailonacid.com/app/acidtest/display/summary/ftLQHmpA5BevI9AZetNoPoNPdlAOogh19hUQ95M1KzWuN/shared

The code is attached.

Thanks very much!!

blreed,
Welcome to the Forum! Thanks for posting!

The issue with Outlook 2013 is probably just a screenshot issue. A few uses of “reprocess” should clear this up.

Outlook 2016 on the other hand is known to be strange about accepting VML. We’ve found that the code from this blog post (http://iamskwerl.com/2011/11/html-emails-outlook-and-background-images/) works consistently in Outlook 2016, so I’d suggest trying that.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Geoff, thank you for your response. I have tried reprocessing the screenshots like 20 times but no go.

Here is the test, using the method from backgrounds.cm: https://www.emailonacid.com/app/acidtest/display/summary/flghl4N8n22t3fNzf4eJvnfR1L5ZyZBvg5Zrf2eOxVfFG/shared

And here is the test, using the method from iamskwerl: https://www.emailonacid.com/app/acidtest/display/summary/2N3eqLy0pZKau1XJ2rN489EHfB3igKXtYlZVnQpZlBZGI/shared

As you can see, neither of these are working. I have emailed EoA asking for technical help, as I’m at a loss for how to proceed.

Well it’s now mysteriously working when I run new tests, so I guess it was a EoA screenshot issue. Nevermind, thanks smile
