No results in iPhone6+ ios8 - is missing doctype causing an error on EoA end?

I’m getting this error message in iPhone6+ ios8, is this a glitch in EoA testing?
“This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted. Ask the sender to send it again using a different format or email program.
text/html”

here’s my test sent from Constant Contact:
https://www.emailonacid.com/app/acidtest/display/summary/Nf5clYxzw9wuIujrjH5tikDNbfJStpYNlsVl14jlWQRvl/shared

When I send a test of my original HTML everything tests just great:
https://www.emailonacid.com/app/acidtest/display/summary/RWHErukk9y7A7XspsyPdbK06vXUTCDTc9hRPlqOchHL7T/shared

When I compare my original code to what Constant Contact sends, I see they are stripping out the DOCTYPE.

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”>

I tested the email in Litmus and iPhone6+ works perfectly there. Constant Contact is telling me it must be an error on Email on Acid’s end, but I don’t have an iPhone 6+ to manually test on to confirm.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have 62% mobile opens so I need to confirm if EoA results or Litmus results are correct.
Thanks!

Hi hornbecker!

Welcome to the Email on Acid forums.

I’ve just been looking into this for you but I don’t think it’s just the doctype being stripped causing the issues. Could you please attach your code as a .html document so I can investigate further, please?

Many thanks
Alex

Hornbecker,
I’m sorry about that error. It’s something that happens with iPhones intermittently that seems to be unrelated to the HTML being tested. We’re working on getting this fixed, but in the meantime you should be able to get a clear preview by reprocessing the screenshot. The reprocess button is on the top left, next to the screenshot.

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.
