All of our tests are failing Spam Assassin filters even though we have a negative score

We have been running some tests for a client and every mailing has failed the Spam Assassin filters and contains a negative score.  Here is one example:

Failed some filters, with a score of -3.7.
message has a signature
HTML has a low ratio of text to image area
HTML included in message

I thought a negative spam assassin score was considered a good score and not likely spam.  Even some internal tests have failed Spam Assassin.  Is this a bug or is there something else I should be looking for?  Thanks.

Greetings, sorry for the confusion with our test. You are correct in that a negative score is a good score. We mark it as Failed in Spamassassin if the email failed any of its spam filters, not based on the score. This will change in our next release, in about a week or so. Once the new version is released our test will only mark it as Failed if the score is 5 or greater.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
