Duplicate links in Hotmail

Hey gang,

I’m having an issue in Hotmail that’s really got me stumped.

I’m working on a mailer with dynamic links and am getting duplicate links in my footer. It looks something like this:

[sitename.com]linkedtext.com

Here’s an actual example in my HTML:

http://{$lookups.site.data.global.domain}/?AFNO=1-4164

To the left of linked text, which is a domain name, the same domain URL appears in square brackets next to it in production. We use a PHP based scripting language called Mustache to call our database through an API, and also trigger a send. I’m not sure that has anything to do with it, but thought I’d mention it anyway.

I can’t make heads or tails of this, and am wondering if anyone out there has an idea about what might be causing the issue.
