Spotify is Rocking Their First Birthday in the US
Many of you have asked us to share some inspirational email designs as an extension of our blog along with ideas and suggestions for captivating your readers. What better than to start with an email designed by a streaming music company that we happen to listen to every day!
Spotify is a free, innovative, and fast paced music streaming service developed in Sweden. Today, millions of people recognize the name and this email definitely lives up to their newfound fame!
To commemorate their first birthday in the United States, this designer used funny and prominent image-metaphors with the perfect image to every caption. Their illustration of a musician “launching” off the ground, grasping to an American flag firework is amazingly clear; it matched the title perfectly. You’ve got to LOVE tight rocker pants in times of emergency! We also appreciated their clever play on the term “pie chart” by using a whimsical interpretation of a cake, adorned with a single candle in celebration of their first anniversary.
This designer managed to place their vector art directly adjacent to each blurb without cluttering the page, something that is not easily done with a message so complex. The black timeline draws your attention through the email with each text block and imagery combo as captivating as the next.
While some companies might shove all of their links in the footer of their email, Spotify was crafty by injecting unmistakable, green links inside their playful commentary. This hybrid, two-column layout is easy to read, ultra creative and totally legit.
It’s obvious that Spotify put a LOT of thought into the production and execution of this email and their message came through loud and clear – just like their streaming music. Congrats to the designer, you guys are definitely rockin it.
