Outlook 07 Preview and Code Analysis Update

11.22.2009

We are excited to announce that we have recently made some drastic improvements to our Outlook 07 preview. We are hoping that this will give developers a better understanding of how to design and construct HTML and CSS emails that comply with Outlook's often frustrating MS Word engine.

Coming Soon

If all goes well and this product is well received, we have several additional features that we intend to implement within the next coming months.

Phase II Features include:

  • Enhanced HTML Plain Text Generation Tool - Currently our text generator only outputs the text from your email, we would eventually like to add your embedded <a> tags to the plain text output.
  • Mobile Device Simulation - Ever wonder how your email renders on an IPhone, Blackberry, or Windows Mobile device?  We are hoping to add this feature soon!
  • Additional Email Clients - As we continue to refine our Acid Test and receive feedback from our users, we hope to support additional email clients.
  • Verify Links and Redirects - This link validation tool would verify that all of your links and redirects are working properly and loading in a timely manner.
  • Email Optimization - This tool would provide a total file size for each of the components within your email and give recommendations for file compression and optimization.
  • Spam Analysis & Reporting - From high-end gateway systems like SpamAssasin, Postini, and Barracuda
  • Convert Embedded to Inline CSS - This feature would give you the option to instantly convert your code so that it renders properly in Gmail.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to send us your ongoing feedback as it will most certainly drive us to improve our product.  We hope you will also share some of your ideas for enhancements as well!

Selectable tests. So if a user only wanted to test in a certain subset of email clients, then it would save precious resources on the server side and time on client side.
